Here is an "amuse bouche"

This is an amuse bouche. It is an hors d'oeuvres, served by the chef to excite the taste buds. An amuse bouche has all the elements of what I love about Son of a Preacher Man. It is a little bit confrontational and a little scary.

I sometimes have a texture thing with sushi, and I don't know whether that's an ice cube or a block of gelatin, but it's definitely seaweed. I know it's going to be salty, which is good, because "salt" is one of my favorite food groups, next to grease, caffeine and alcohol. I am entranced by this amuse bouche, and I hope to god it's ice and not clear jello.
